Welcome to Watching Heroes

The first time I saw a trailer for the NBC television show, Heroes, I was sitting in a movie theater watching the preshow previews waiting for the movie to begin. When the trailer started I was sucked in immediately, the idea of a serious super-hero drama was something that appealed greatly to me. Now that I have been watching this show for the past three weeks, I am compelled to write about and share with you my enthusiasm for this show. I hope you’ll enjoy this as much as I will.
Thanks for coming.

I was stoked the moment I heard this show was happening. So many shows have tried to take on the super hero genre and went the campy route with it. While that’s okay in small doses too, I was longing for something that really got comic books the way I do and this show is heading in the right direction and I hope the network stays behind it.

Exactly. I think if you look at shows like Heroes and Battlestar Galactica, you can see that someone has figured out that if you create a good character driven drama and put it in a genre oriented setting, not only will fanboys enjoy it, but you may actually capture some of the mainstream audience as well.

I sure hope Heroes starts going somewhere. And I hope it doesn’t venture into the territory of “save the world” which it seems like it’s doing with this huge blast that Hiro saw when he went into the future.
I dunno, I just think Heroes was a great idea, but not done to the best of it’s ability. It seems that none of the super powers are original at all. The only peron I’m really interested in, in the show is Ali Larter’s character, because who knows what’s going on with that.
But, I’m going to stick with this show, and hopefully it ventures into some unseen territory we’ve been in with superheroes.

Aaron, Thanks for visiting!
I’m just curious if the doomsday angle is a seasonal story arc or series long arc.
I’m not so concerned about the lack of originality in the powers, just more interested in how they develop or progress throughout the series. I haven’t decide whether Ali’s Character Niki has superpowers or schizophrenia! She kind has that Jeckyll/Hyde thing going on.

I wondering if you know about Heroes coming to the UK. Do you know if a TV company has bought the rights and when it’ll be shown? I’m seeing a lot of hype about it and I want in! Us poor old Brits always have to wait so long

Ha that’s very true! And The Office, and now Torchwood
I’m sure there are others but I can’t think of them right now. Love Red dwarf btw.
