On the Subject of Symbols
If you’re like me, keeping track of the appearance of The Symbol is mindboggling at a minimum. Well I’ve located two sources that have counts of The Symbol’s appearance. The first is the Heroeswiki, which has the count at 15, also with nice accompanying images. The second is Wikipedia’s Heroes page, which has the tally up to 14, minus pretty pictures. I’ve got most of the series DVR’d, so I plan to go back and check to see if I can’t find any that they’ve missed.
Heroes, Heroeswiki, Wikipedia, Symbols

Wow, I missed a lot of those too. It’s amazing all the places they’ve managed to slip it in there. This symbol is one of the more intriguing parts of the show. It will be interesting to find out how it fits into the rest of the story.

It’s killing me trying to figure out how it ties in. I’m gonna rewatch all my DVR’d episodes and see if something doesn’t just jump out at me.

They find the what they think is the sword, with The Symbol on it’s hilt. Ando interprets the symbol on the hilt to translate into “Great Talent” or “Godsend”. Hiro decides that he needs the sword to get his powers back and figures that if he doesn’t take it, it will be destroyed when the explosion in New York happens on November 8th. He tries his power at first and nothing happens. He tries a second time and he manages to slow time. He decides that this is enough and takes the sword and runs on the way out he encounters the stature of a dinosaur (represented in Isaacs painting). When time resumes, Ando is standing next to the case with the alarm going off. Ando runs out of the museum cheering that Hiro has done it. When they are clear Hiro takes the sword out of the case and realizes that it is a fake for the museum. On the fake blade is a note sayin that the original is in the possesion of the Linderman collection. [...]
