Monday’s Contest Post of the Day: Favorite Hero?

by

PPWParty1 Heroes features an ensemble cast with 12 primary players and the show does a pretty good job of dividing up their screen time fairly. That being said, every fan has a favorite (or two…or twelve).

Though I really love all of the characters, my favorite has to be Matt Parkman. No, wait. It’s Sylar. Sylar is definitely my favorite character. Except for HRG. I love any scene involving HRG…or Angela Petrelli. OK, maybe they are all my favorites.   What I want to know is…

Who is the “star” of the show for you and why?

Leave a comment telling us who your favorite Hero is and be entered to win one of our many prizes. We’ll have another post for you to weigh in on tomorrow so check back and enter again!  Winners will be drawn at the end of the day Friday, September 19.

(Contest is open to US residents only)

Matt Parkman is my favorite hero. I actually wrote a long article about why on fanpop, but I’ll shorten it for the purpose of this forum.

    1. Unlike the others, he was already trying to save the world (in his own small way) by being a cop, even when his disability kept him down.

2.When the world needed saving he rushed right in and did his best. Did he go about it the smartest way? No. Noone will ever accuse Matt of having an overabundance of brains. But he’s got backbone for days and his courage and willingness to lay himself on the line for others makes up for his deficiency in the smarts department
    3. After all he had been through…kidnapped, cheated on, baby wasn’t his, took 4 bullets in the chest…he was still willing to step up and take in Molly, a little girl he barely knew, just because she was all alone in the world and needed him.
    4. He is the most relatable. He’s human and flawed. He doesn’t have HRG’s cunning or Nathan’s charisma or Peter’s pretty boy good looks or Mohinder’s genious. He’s just like us. And despite all that, he keeps trying and everytime he falls down he gets back up and tries again, never giving up.
    5. He’s cuddly.

  2. Randi Says:

This is a tough question! the star of the show for me? Hmmm - I’d have to say I love almost any seen with Masi Oka in it. He just just amazing! He’s got an awesome superpower and he has that unbreakable goodness in him. He’s definitely my favorite.

  4. Darren Dunner Says:

My favorite is Peter! He has so much to work through in his character with all the powers he acquires and balance of the whole show revolves around him.

I can’t wait to see what he does this season.

  5. owl Says:

Peter Petrelli is the star of the show because Peter Petrelli IS the show. :)

  6. Taylor Blue Says:

It has to be Peter for me too…When I first watched it I was drawn to his character. (Besides I really love Milo but that’s another story.) Peter always wants to see the good in people. And I feel I’m like that too…I want to always see the good things someone does and not have to think about bad things.

But the future Peter seems more rugged and isn’t so accepting of people’s faults. But I still love him.

  7. Tarot Says:

I like the whole core cast. They work well together and really make for some interesting drama. Though my absolute favorite Hero is one of the guest stars, Christopher Eccleston as Claude Rains the Invisible man. Everything about Claude just captivates me to no end. And yeah, he’s sarcastic and a loner, but he’s not a bad guy. I get where he’s coming from.

  8. DeasNuts Says:

Bennet. He is a badass and has the most connections to each character.

  9. Judy Says:

I have to say Peter as well…he is THE ULTIMATE character to use if they ever made Heroes into a video game. Ho ho ho, idea for NBC?

  10. Jen Elliot Says:

I think Sylar is the star, he just has so much presence. He’s the guy you love to hate, or love to hate to love! Matt is a pretty close second for me though.

  11. AnnieB Says:

I love Sylar because he’s really what makes the show so interesting, and in the first season he really drove the plotline. It doesn’t hurt that he spent a lot of time in season 2 shirtless…. ;)

I also love Claire, just because I can relate to her a lot. :)

  12. Nicky Says:

Okay, I love everyone, seriously. But the character that drew me into the show and brought me back, week after week, that’s easy - Peter Petrelli. He was so full of hope and a type of innocence about the world. He wanted to help in whatever way he could (including being a hospice nurse and sitting with dying people)… not to mention he has an awesome power and he’s gorgeous. :) The Petrelli brothers are the reason I love Heroes so much!

  13. DustInc Says:

I guess I’m going against most of the previous posters, but my favorite character has to be Hiro. I like the way he brings some humor into the show (although in Season 2 the writers toned down the humor in his character quite a bit). I also really enjoy the Ando/Hiro interaction that goes along with it. Hopefully we can see some more of that in Season 3 even thought it seems like we might be in for a very serious storyline (i.e. Villains).

I do agree with the other posters that said Parkman (he’s a close 2nd for me). I think the last season the writers made a great desicion to expand on his powers and to give him more screen time.

  15. cari Says:

ahhh this is an impossible question! I *really* love Nathan, Peter, Molly, Mohinder, Parkman, Adam and Sylar…

But if I HAD to pick one, I would pick Sylar. He is just so menacing and so funny at the same time. And he has some of the best lines!

  16. Shawn Marshall Says:

Hiro, he’s just so loyal, sincere, quite geeky, and an all-around awesome guy! I’d teleport with Hiro anytime, anywhere - ya-ta!!!

Hiro. And many others - but Hiro makes me smile, everytime he comes on screen - he’s so giddy, and excited and eager and YA TI! spelled wrong, I’m sure, but me and my kids went around yelling it for WEEKS after that first episode. Love. Him.
