‘Heroes’ Quick News for Friday, March 7
Ali Larter is set to star with Beyonce Knowles and Idiris Elba in Obsessed. Elba will play an asset manager and Beyonce will star as his wife. Ali stars as a temp office worker who begins stalking him. Beyonce will also executive produce along with her father, Mathew Knowles. Elba next stars in Prom Night with Heroes‘ star Dana Davis.
Heroes alum Eric Roberts (Thompson) was announced as one of the stars for NBC’s 13 episode summer horror series, Fear Itself. The show will include installments from famed horror directors Ronny Yu (Freddy vs. Jason), Brad Anderson (The Machinist), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator), John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV)Â and Ernest Dickerson (who directed the Heroes episode “Collision”). In addition to Roberts, the cast will include Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Shiri Appleby (Roswell), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Cynthia Watros (Lost).
Not only will Masi Oka be starring in the big screen adaptation of Get Smart, he will also star in a spinoff movie which will hit your local DVD store around the same time as the big screen release on June 20. Masi’s character, Bruce and his co-hort, Lloyd (played by Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’s Nate Torrence), will star in Get Smart’s Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control. The spinoff, which extends the adventures of the two minor characters, will drop within two weeks of Get Smart’s June 20 opening in theaters. The spin-off was shot simultaneously with the feature film but Get Smart star Steve Carell does not appear in it.
Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards is set for Saturday, March 29 and they have announced that Hayden Panettiere will appear, presumably as a presenter. Heroes is not up for any awards but if you are interested in the nominees and voting process, check out the KCA website.
