Heroes Interview: Jack Coleman, HRG

by

Is HRG a flat out bad guy?
I’ve certainly been set up as the ‘bad guy.’ But I think in future episodes, there’s going to be light shed on both his motivation and his loyalty. Future episodes will certainly broaden everyone’s understanding of who HRG is and what he’s trying to do. In some ways he’ll be more sympathetic, in other ways more horrific. source

The TV Addict has a great interview with HRG (Jack Coleman) and I’m extremely jealous that they got to sit down and talk with him. I’m going to have to work on getting in with the guys at NBC so I can get some scoops! (Anyone from NBC/Heroes reading? Drop me a email!)

Jack gives us some nice teasers of the upcoming episodes in regards to his character. We’ll learn more about his back story and how he came to be Claire’s adopted father and other juicy bits. Read the interview for the scoop. Great job to The TV Addict for the scoop!

[...] Jack Coleman, who stars as HRG on Heroes appeared on the show. He revealed that he is a sixth generation descendant of Ben Franklin. Jack also said that he has a daughter who 7-years-old. He said that although he is “not a gun person,” when she is 14 or 15 years old and dating, he might have to get the shotgun ready. His character on Heroes, HRG, is so named for his horn-rimmed glasses. He said that the first time he put the glasses on and looked in the mirror, he said, “Dad?” Below is a picture of Jack in character and a picture of his dad, which shows the striking resemblance. When asked if HRG is good or bad, Jack responded “a little bit of both.” He revealed that in an upcoming episode, a series of flashbacks will reveal the origin and history of his character. He said that there are no plans to kill off his character that he knows of, but later added “not just yet.” Jack was embarrassed when they showed a clip of his role as Steven Carrington on Dynasty in the 1980s. Here is a picture of him when he appeared on that show. For more on HRG and the rest of the Heroes cast, visit Watching Heroes. [...]
