Usual spoiler disclaimers apply, so continue reading at your own risk.
Godsend starts off with Peter in a coma at the hospital, flashes of the dream from the end of Fallout flickering in and out
It cuts over to Niki in prison orange with severely bruised guards (in a group), coming to take her to see her lawyer. from their actions she has obviously put the wuppin’ to them.
Claire is watching TV as they report that the kids are just returning to school, as it has been 2 weeks since the death of Jackie, a fellow cheerleader killed by Sylar. Claire begins to unravel the lie that is her life, beginning with the fact that HRG really doesn’t work in a paper factory like she has always thought aand that the poepl she thought were her biological parents actually worked for HRG. She tries to talk with Zach, but having been ‘hollowed out’ by the Haitian he remembers nothing of his time as Claires friend, although he does feel as if he has gaps in his memory. Claire asks if he think he and Claire could ever be friends and he says that he couldn’t see them ever getting along. Later she talks with the Haitian, telling him that she is all alone and without her friends and that she wants to see Peter Petrelli. She isn’t supposed to remember Peter (The Haitian was supposed to wipe her memories in Fallout, but didn’t) and can’t deal with being the only one to remember. She asks if he can restore Zach, but he says that his powers don’t work that way. She mocks that he calls them powers and he tells her that they are from God and to respect the calling. She later takes Zach and his camera out to where we were first introduced to her in Genesis and has him video tape her jumping again to show him her powers.
We get a glimpse of Sylar, looking very near death, in a holding cell below Primatech. The are trying to isolate how his abilities work and can only detect his telekenisis. The have him massively drugged since the eden incident.
Parkman, acting on a tip from his abilities gets his FBI pal to stage a raid Primatech to try and get Sylar, but the raid reveals nothing other than to get his pal suspended. Parkman confronts HRG, but he casually blows him off. Later on Matt comes home to find his wife ready to leave and he tells her that they need to be completely honest with each other. He then reveals his abilitie to her and we leave them with him telling her to pick a number between one and a million.
Hiro and ando show up in the Museum of Natural History in New York, looing for the sword, in hopes that it will restore his abilities. They find the what they think is the sword, with The Symbol on it’s hilt. Ando interprets the symbol on the hilt to translate into “Great Talent” or “Godsend”. Hiro decides that he needs the sword to get his powers back and figures that if he doesn’t take it, it will be destroyed when the explosion in New York happens on November 8th. He tries his power at first and nothing happens. He tries a second time and he manages to slow time. He decides that this is enough and takes the sword and runs on the way out he encounters the stature of a dinosaur (represented in Isaacs painting). When time resumes, Ando is standing next to the case with the alarm going off. Ando runs out of the museum cheering that Hiro has done it. When they are clear Hiro takes the sword out of the case and realizes that it is a fake for the museum. On the fake blade is a note sayin that the original is in the possesion of the Linderman collection.
While DL is making PB&J sandwiches for Micah he notices that Micah is scuffed up. He has been fighting with kids who have been calling his mom a psychokiller. DL tells him that they will get through it. A lawyer for Linderman shows up and says that because Niki confessed to the killings and the theft, DL was a free man, but that he still owed Linderman even though he was returning the money. Linderman, not being tolerant of people stealing from him and all.
While talking with her lawyer, Niki loses control and Jessica surfaces. She ends up slipping back and forth and the Lawyer thinks she’s crazy. Later she is visited by DL and Micah and DL slips his hand through the glass to hold her hand while talking. She asks to talk to Micah, but he is anxious. she asks the guard to see her son to hug him and he looks real nervous, she gets up and starts going towards him and he pulls his stick on her and swings. she catches it in one hand and snaps it in two. She is then rushed by a group on guards and restrained. At the end of the episode we see her in a padded cell wearing a straight jacket. She asks God to help her, then Jessica surfaces and says: “Who needs God when you’ve got me.”
We see Ted the Nuclear man testing his powers in a shack in Nevada.
Mohinder turns his list over too the FBI and is questioned about it. They seem skeptical of his reasoning and are only investigating because a number of people on the list are dead. He is free of suspicion since he was in India when several of the deaths occurred. He tells them about Sylar, but they tell him that it must be a pseudonym, because they do not have that name on record. Theey also tell him that they have found a body of a girl named Sarah Ellis. They ask him to identify her and the picture is of Eden. She was found in a lake with a bullet in her head. Later he is visited by HRG, who wants the list from him and would like to work with him. HRG explains that not all the peoplee with powers can control them and that is why he needs to be able to track them down. HRG asks if Mohinders reluctance to turn the list iover is because he (Mohinder) is on it (thus the tag line for this part of the season ‘Are you on the list?’).He also admits to Mohinder that Chandra seemed to know more about the heroes than HRG and co. did. Mohinder appears nervous because HRG is packing a desert eagle. In the end HRG picks up the gun and leaves, but before doing so he gives Mohinder a business card telling him that when he decides to cooperate to call the number on the card.
Nathan and Simone leave the hospital to see the other paintings by Isaac, to try and figure out what is going on with Peter. When they get to the studio Isaac is there. Isaac tells her that he is clean and can now paint with out using drugs. H/e also tells her he loves her still (Peter-Simone-Isaac love triangle). while they are talking Ando and Hiro show up. After much talking Hiro reveals to Simone that he is the Hiro Nakamura from Isaacs comics and about the sword. He tells her theat the Linderman group has it and she tells him that Linderman is one of her clients. they arrange to go to Vegas together to meet with Linderman.
Peter has a full dream similar to the one on the end of fallout ending with him exploding. In this version though we are introduced to Christopher Eccelston’s Invisible man. When he comes to, he leaves the hospital and we see him walking the streets on the phone with someone making arrangements to get away from New York. He mentions Nevada (Where Ted is hiding). While on the phone he sees Eccelston taking peoples money, he chases after him and when he catches up Eccelston freaks out on him saying that no one is supposed to see him because he is invisible.
Whew. Man, I love this show.
