Dead But Not Forgotten, Part 2
Today I bring you Part 2 of the 3 part series on fallen Heroes. (If you missed part one, click here).
Eden McCain
(Nora Zehetner)
Eden McCain (aka Sarah Ellis) was Mohinder’s neighbor and confidante who, it turns out, was working for The Company. She had a power that I think we all might like to have - the power of persuasion (which works much like the Jedi Mind Trick). She was instrumental in Isaac’s rehab and worked closely with Bennet at the Primatech Paper location. When Sylar was being held there, she decided to use her power of persuasion to make him shoot himself. She made the suggestion and prepared to hand him a gun through the slot in his cell, but Sylar was unaffected and responded by pulling her through the glass. Fearing that Sylar would take her power, she turned the gun on herself.
Nora Zehetner has several projects listed in IMDB right now. She starred in the lead role in Beneath, an MTV Films thriller which released in August. She has also completed work on Remarkable Power with Kevin Nealon, but a release date is not listed and is working on another film entitled Princess.
Hana Gitelman
(Stana Katic)
Hana Gitelman, or Wireless, had the ability intercept, generate and interpret wireless transmissions - and she didn’t need a computer to do all that. She only appeared in one episode (”Unexpected”) but was the subject of more graphic novels than any other character, making 15 appearances before her “death.” She was believed to have burned up with a satellite she was trying to destroy, but apparently chatted with Micah on the internet 2 days after her supposed death. Perhaps we’ll see more of her in the future…
Stana Katic has been keeping very busy since her appearance in Heroes. She has completed one movie, Truth About Kerry and has another movie, Stiletto, and a mini-series, Would Be Kings, in post-production. She is also on board for The Spirit which releases in early 2009.
Charlie Andrews
(Jayma Mays)
Ahhhh, sweet Charlie. Everyone fell in love with her short-lived character. She was a waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner in Midland, Texas. She had the ability to quickly memorize things after reading them just one time…things like, oh, the entire Japanese language, for instance. Charlie was killed by Sylar in the episode “Seven Minutes to Midnight.” Hiro, who had been smitten with Charlie, went back in time to six months earlier in hopes of saving her, but was unable to do so. Her character was so popular that it inspired a novel which comes out this December. The novel will reveal the untold story of the six months Hiro and Charlie spent together.
So where can you find Jayma Mays these days? Well you might remember her from the spoof film Epic Movie where she played the ditsy Lucy, or as Charlie (yes, Charlie again) in Ugly Betty. Most recently she did an episode of Pushing Daisies, the new ABC series created by one of the writers of Heroes.
Mr. Thompson
(Eric Roberts)
Good ol’ Mister Thompson. He was Noah Bennet’s superior at The Company and was a company man through and through. After he discovered that Claire had abilities, he instructed Bennet to bring her in. Bennet put together an elaborate scheme to hide Claire. When Thompson found out Bennet had been deceiving The Company about Claire, he was prepared to kill him. Bennet shot and killed Thompson to keep him from shooting Matt Parkman in the episode “Landslide.”
Eric Roberts is always busy. He has 7 projects listed as being in post-production on IMDB right now. He is also part of the new Batman flick, The Dark Knight, which is filming now. That movie is slated for release next July.
