Dead But Not Forgotten | Characters Who Didn’t Make it to Season 2
Today I begin a 3 part series on the Heroes and Villains who didn’t make it to Season 2. We’ll take a look at the characters, discuss their relevance and find out where you can find the actors now. Let’s get started…
Isaac Mendez
(Santiago Cabrera)
Isaac was the heroin addicted artist from New York City who predicted the future in his paintings. He overcame addiction with the help of The Company and returned to New York, only to accidentally kill his girlfriend, Simone. In his grief, he turned once again to heroin and painted some of his most disturbing paintings. He predicted his own death in his art and, before meeting his fate, made sure to send out his sketch book and the final issue of 9th Wonders. He was killed by Sylar in episode 19, “.07%.” Isaac’s paintings continue to play a big role in the show, as you will see in tonight’s episode, “Lizards.”
So what is Santiago Cabrera up to now? Well, besides sporting his best Grizzly Adams beard, he is starring in a Chilean movie entitled Caleuche: El llamado del mar. It is slated for release next year.
Simone Deveaux
(Tawny Cypress)
Simone Deveaux was an art dealer and the daughter of one of the older generation Heroes, Charles Deveaux. She was also Isaac’s girlfriend and love interest of Peter Petrelli. She was tragically killed when Isaac accidentally shot her during an argument between himself and Peter.
Where can you find Tawny now? She is currently starring as Ginger “Love Tap” LeBeau (hey that rhymes with Deveaux), a tough beat cop, on the new Fox series K-Ville.
Ted Sprague
(Matthew John Armstrong)
Ted was the highly radioactive man who accidentally gave his wife cancer. He was wanted by the FBI for killing his wife’s oncologist. Ted’s power became uncontrollable when he was stressed or angry, and could be very dangerous. He was eventually captured by the FBI after a tip from Sylar. As he was being transported, Sylar intercepted the vehicle and killed Ted, taking on his ability.
Where is he now? Contrary to popular belief, Matthew John Armstrong is not one of the Geico cavemen and you won’t be seeing him in the new ABC series. IMDB doesn’t list any current projects for Armstrong but I’m sure we’ll be seeing him again soon.
Daniel Linderman
(Malcolm McDowell)
Although we didn’t meet Linderman until episode 18, “Parasite,” we knew him already. He was part of the story from the very beginning, often mentioned but never seen…that is until Nathan met him in the kitchen of his hotel. Linderman was an eccentric businessman, hotel owner and apparent mafia mogul. He was also one of the older generation of Heroes, and had the power to heal others. He made many enemies, most significantly D.L. Hawkins and Niki Sanders. When Linderman hid Micah from them and threatened Niki, D.L. used his power of phasing to reach into Linderman’s head and damage his brain, killing him.
What’s Malcolm McDowell up to? He starred this summer in an episode of the ABC series Masters of Science Fiction and can be seen on the big screen in the newest Halloween movie.
I’ll be back tomorrow with information on more of our dead Heroes and Villains. In the meantime, enjoy tonight’s episode.
