Dana Davis Confirms She is Leaving ‘Heroes’

by Debbie Ford

51727540451press430200865138AM In a new interview with PopWrap, Dana Davis confirms that her character, Monica, will be wrapping up her storyline “fairly quickly” in Season 3.

When asked why, Dana explained, “Heroes didn’t get the same critical or fan acclaim in season two, so I think the creators felt a lot of pressure because the ratings dropped and it wasn’t nominated for any Emmys. And with the strike, I feel like the writers had a lot of time to sit around and think. They wanted to come back really strong and go back to what the show was in season one - less drama, more action. And they took it in a different direction that didn’t really include Monica.”

Dana went on to say that she and Tim Kring have talked about the fact that heroes can return at any time.  “You never know when I’ll show up again,” she said.

    Drat. I liked her.

  2. Debbie Says:

I liked her too, but I wasn’t too fond of her storyline.

I like her character. I wish they took Maya off instead. She sucks and so does her black blood eyes. If they really wanted no drama and the way season one was, then they’re not getting that with Maya because she had nothing to do with season one. At least Monica was related to an orignal.

noooo!!!she was my favorite character along with elle!!!and also elle only has 8 recurring episodes!!no :(

Monica – This is a horrible decision!!!! She was probably my favorite new character from last season… Her power is so HOT!!! We need a character who can whoop ass and as a gay man I always love to see a hot chick doing the whopping. The thing I love about Heroes and think it’s what makes it one of the better shows out there is the multi-ethnic/ multi-language aspects of the show…with that said the show NEEDS a hot black girl and Monica is that person. I think she also has one of the most interesting story arcs, her journey in becoming St.Joan… the 1st costumed crime fighter… this could have fit well with the; who turns into heroes and who turns into villains theme… …I would be very very interested in seeing that… teaming up with her cousin that has access to all law enforcement databases (Homeland Security, FBI, THE COMPANY!!!) and can grant her access to any locked down facilities she needed to get into.
Someone wrote on here that she wasn’t whinny! I agree I am so tired of these wimpy whinny characters…Ummm I was going to name some but pretty much all of them lol… she had a genuine interest in her ability and wanted to learn and embrace it…LETS SEE THIS!!! HEROES DON’T GIVE UP ON HER!!!!
