heroes_s3_angela_1280

We are getting down to the nitty gritty. This is the eleventh in the series of twelve wallpapers that are being released on the Heroes official MySpace page. So far, in addition to Angela, we have seen Peter Petrelli, Noah Bennet, Tracy Strauss, Nathan Petrelli, Matt Parkman, Hiro Nakamura , Mohinder Suresh, Claire Bennet, Sylar and Ando Masahasi. That just leaves one more - Maya Herrera – though I would love to see them issue the full cast photo in a wallpaper as well.

Don’t forget! If you MySpace, add me as a friend.

Heroes Roundup for 10.13.08

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Is everyone ready for tonight’s episode? Well here’s a little news to get you warmed up.

NUP_131811_0100 E! Online’s Kristin has some spoilers about Arthur Petrelli’s debut.  She confirms that his first appearance will be in one of Angela’s dreams, and that they aren’t too happy to see each other.  Kristin says that the three sons will become pawns in their parents’ big game. “The question becomes: Are the sons powerful enough to withstand the influence of their parents? I expect we’ll hardly be able to tell who is on whose side, because from what I’ve heard, the betrayals and doublecrosses come fast and furious.”  Kristin also tells us that we will find out what Arthur’s power is as early as next week.

TV Guide talked to Brea Grant about her role as The Speedster. She gives a little insight into her future relationship with Matt Parkman and lets us know a little about what’s in store for Daphne. “You’ll definitely see more of them [together]. The dream you saw in the last episode motivates him to search for her. They’re going to meet up in the near future, actually.”  Brea also tells us that Daphne’s track medal will play a bigger part than people realize.

Kristen Bell also chatted with TV Guide, telling them that we will see a lot more interaction between Elle and Sylar as she tries to avenge her father’s death.

And finally, everyone loves a contest.  My good friend Anil, who reports on Heroes for SpoilerTV, and at his own site, The ODI, wanted me to let you know about their big giveaway.  They have 10 copies of the Comic-Con exclusive Heroes comic book up for grabs.  To find out how you can win, check out http://spoilertv-heroes.blogspot.com/2008/10/our-heroes-comic-book-giveaway.html.

The DVR Numbers Are In!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

villainslogo As expected, Heroes has shown a big increase in viewers when the DVR numbers are counted. Statistics for the first week of the television season have been released and, for week 1, Heroes was NBC’s biggest gainer, with its adult 18-49 rating jumping by 20 percent (to a 6.05 rating from a 5.05). In all, NBC had nine primetime telecasts that week that generated double-digit gains in 18-49 rating going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven,” the most for any major network ahead of Fox (eight), CBS (seven) and ABC (four).

Among the NBC premiere-week shows that added more than 1 million total viewers in this transition were Heroes (12.018 million vs. 10.150 million, an increase of 1.868 million), The Office (10.914 million vs. 9.393 million, an increase of 1.521 million), ER (9.317 million vs. 8.057 million, an increase of 1.260 million) and Law & Order: SVU (10.902 million vs. 9.698 million, an increase of 1.204 million).

Promo Images from Episode 3.06, “Dying of the Light”

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Here are 3 images from episode 3.06, "Dying of the Light." They show villains Adam Monroe and Knox visiting Arthur Petrelli’s bedside. Does that mean the promo that shows Arthur meeting Angela in the hallway in the upcoming episode 5 is a dream sequence? It would seem from these photos that Arthur isn’t quite up and around in episode 6.

What’s Up With the Ratings?

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Jesse_Alexander Everyone’s blogging about the drop in ratings, not only for Heroes, but for shows across the board. Have people quit watching TV? Probably not.

More and more are watching online and via DVR. Heroes executive producer and writer, Jesse Alexander, had this to say about the DVR trend:

Some shows are getting an almost 70% bump in their ratings via TIVO and DVR. A stat that is reported some three weeks after the airing of the episode.

That’s insane. Three years ago it was around 9%. That kind of audience shift is catastrophic for the traditional ad revenue models the networks and studios depend on to fund their business. With that many people supposedly skimming through commercials, the production budgets of shows that have a low on-air rating — but massive DVD sales, INTERNATIONAL audience, and WEB viewership will be hard to justify.

What’s going to save the TV business? Integrated advertising? Smaller budgets? New accounting practices? New biz dev partnerships between content creators and hardware creators? Probably all of the above.

DVR viewing numbers come out October 13 and it will be interesting to see how Heroes fares.

New Promo and a Sneak Peek at "Angels and Monsters"

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

We’ve got two new videos for you. The first is a sneak peek of a scene between Daphne in Linderman in which he tries to convince her to do a little recruiting for him:

The second is a promo which describes Arthur Petrelli as the one who has been "pulling the strings" and the "leader of the Villains."

Promo Images for Episode 3.05, “Angels and Monsters”

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

NBC has released the promotional photos for the upcoming fifth episode of Season 3, “Angels and Monsters.”  Be sure to check out the looks on Angela’s face, as well as the blood on her hand. Is Peter going “Sylar” on her?  Fangirls will love the shirtless Peter and the wifebeater clad Sylar, I’m sure.  Also revealed in these photos: Maury Parkman visits Arthur Petrelli.

First Look at Arthur Petrelli

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Thanks to my good friend Anil, we have our first look at Robert Forster as Arthur Petrelli.

robforester

The photo comes from Eric, a reader at SpoilerTV. I believe it’s a screencap from an episode promo.

So what do you think?  Some thought we would see Arthur in a flashback or a dream, but this sure looks like he has been kept alive.  And the promo in which Angela is shocked to see him would indicate that he will be returning in the present.

More Photos from Episode 3.04

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

NBC has released a bonus batch of promotional photos from episode 3.04, “I Am Become Death.” The set includes several from the big fight scene in Costa Verde.

Heroes Ratings for Monday 10/6 – a Series Low

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

All of Monday nights shows on NBC showed a decline last night.  Heroes fell 20% (8.2 million, 3.9/9), by far a series low, marking the third consecutive week of decline. It was rated lower than CBS’s How I Met Your Mother for the first time.

The show is still strong with the 18-34 crowd though, earning a 4.4 rating /11 share, and easily winning that demographic.

Observations and Questions from Episode 3.04, “I Am Become Death”

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

I have a few questions and items for discussion from last night’s episode, “I Am Become Death.”  Weigh in and give us your opinion on these items:

Who was Sylar’s baby mama?  Spoilers had told us we would see who it was but unless I missed something, we didn’t find out.  I think we can rule out Claire (eww, that’s her uncle), Daphne (since she was with Matt) and Tracy (since she was First Lady).

Why wasn’t Peter more shocked when he found out Sylar was his brother?  I would have been all, “Whoa, wait a minute. Start over.”

If Sylar has started over with all of his powers, how did he have so many in the future?  Did he kill a whole bunch of people before he redeemed himself?  Because little Noah looked to be at least 3 and we were 4 years in the future right?  Wouldn’t that mean his redemption started like…now…in the present?

How was it that Hiro and Ando were able to nearly escape from Level 5.  Isn’t that prison supposed to be built to house the worst of the worst super-powered criminals?

ETA – Alison pointed out that the guys were on Level 2 (thanks Alison!), not Level 5. Even so, wouldn’t you think it would be built to keep people in?

304Heroes0268

How do you suppose Claire and Peter escaped the blast in Costa Verde?  Did Peter teleport them out?

Did everyone notice the photo in Doctor Zimmerman’s house?  Here it is in case you missed it:

304Heroes0043

It is Dr. Z, his lovely dachshund, a Tracy/Niki/Jessica look-alike (the Barbara Dr. Z mentioned?), a woman (his wife perhaps?),  and The German, or someone who looks remarkably like him. Is it him, or could it be The German also has a look-alike sibling(s) too?

Brand New Season 3 Wallpaper: Ando

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

It’s time for the next in the series of wallpapers has been unlocked on the Heroes official MySpace page. This week we have James Kyson Lee as Ando Masahashi. Check it out:

heroes_s3_ando_1280

This is the tenth in the series of twelve wallpapers that are being released on the Heroes official MySpace page. So far, in addition to Ando, we have seen Peter Petrell, Noah Bennet, Tracy Strauss, Nathan Petrelli, Matt Parkman, Hiro Nakamura , Mohinder Suresh, Claire Bennet and Sylar.

We’ll keep bringing these to you each week as they become available. Now we are just waiting for Angela Petrelli and Maya Herrera.

And don’t forget! If you MySpace, add me as a friend.

Big thanks to Dreyesbo for alerting me that this was ready!
