Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Heroes did not disappoint last night with an action-packed season finale. We got resolution for one story and began another. Who knows when we might get to see the rest of Volume 3 though. Here’s what happened last night: (more…)

Episode 2.8 Recap - ‘Four Months Ago’

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

heroes2x01_0001_1.jpg

We finally know what happened when Nathan and Peter flew up into the sky and we saw the big flash in last season’s finale. This episode took us back four months and also explained D.L.’s fate and the mystery of Adam Monroe. We also got a glimpse at why Maya was a wanted woman. Everything was pretty much as I had guessed it, but I’m glad to have those answers. (SPOILERS FOLLOW)

Finally - something actually happened that I cared about in an episode. This one was full of things that are actually relelvant to the plot and moved the story along. Thank you Heroes for a good episode! (SPOILERS AHOY!) (more…)

Episode 2.6 Recap - ‘The Line’

Monday, October 29th, 2007

heroes2x01_0001_1.jpg

This episode seemed like filler to me. I was so hoping for something spectacular after last weeks Nathan vs. Matt romp. They aren’t doing much for the naysayers who are trashing Heroes all over the web now are they? They need to move this story along…and fast.

Well, as boring as it was, here’s what went down (Do I even need to say it? OK…SPOILERS FOLLOW): (more…)

Episode 2.5 Recap - ‘Fight or Flight’

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

heroes2x01_0001_1.jpg

While most of this episode was slow and lame, I must say it had one of the best fight scenes evah. I’m ready for this show to move on. It seems like it is moving very slow this season and we need some answers…quick! Here’s what happened last night (CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD!): (more…)

Episode 2.4 Recap | “The Kindness of Strangers”

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

normal_101_1.jpg

This week’s Heroes was the best so far this season I think. Missing were Hiro, Niki and Peter, but we met Micah’s new family in New Orleans and got a little more of Matt Parkman’s story (which made me happy - I love me some Grunny!). (more…)

Episode 2.3 Recap | “Kindred”

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

heroes2x01_0001_1.jpg

Another great episode that just flew by! I think they should make these eppys 2 hours long! If you missed it, remember you can watch it online at NBC.com. Here’s what happened: (Do I even need to say SPOILERS FOLLOW?) (more…)

Episode 2.2 Recap | Lizards

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

00102f1g.jpg

I watched this episode on my DVR last night, and I must admit, it went by so fast I couldn’t believe it was already over. That, to me, is the sign of a great show. We got a lot of information last night, so I’ll try not to leave anything out. CAUTION - SPOILER HEAVY!!

Episode 2.1 Recap | Four Months Later

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

heroes2x01_0059_1.jpg

The season premiere did not disappoint. We were reacquainted with several of our Heroes, seeing a glimpse of their “new” lives as they try to blend in as ordinary people. I’m going to do this recap by character, instead of chronologically, as I think it will (hopefully) work better for this particular episode.WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED, DON’T CLICK. VERY SPOILER HEAVY RECAP FOLLOWS! (more…)

How to stop an Exploding Man

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

or a victim of my own expectations. I won’t call this a recap so much as a summary of my thoughts on the season one finale. This episode would have been an exceptional lead in episode, but to my mind fell a bit short of what I was hoping to see in the finale. I had already envisioned this grand battle of two superhero titans, Sylar and Peter. The unseen duel from Five Years Gone had fueled this expectation when Sylar andd Peter both fired up the nuke hands and went at it in the halls.

Before I go to far into the fight scene let me talk about the definite pros of the episode. Hiro proving the he was faster than Sylar with his abilities and rescuing Ando, Jessica helping Niki to defeat Candice by revealing Candices deceit, Molly’s revelation of a villian worse than Sylar, Claire pulling a Greg Louganis out the window to get away from Nathan and her grandmother, The flashback/time travel sequence with Charles, Peter and Simone, Hiro putting his sword into Sylar, Sylar laughing at Peter because now Peter would be the one to destroy the city, making Peter the vilian, Nathan doing the right thing in the end and flying Peter away from the city before he exploded, Hiro getting tossed back a few centuries….

Ok, now back to the fight issue. Peter and Sylar have gone at it three times in the first season. Each fight has been more spectacular than the previous. For this fight to come down to a slugging match really was a low point for me. I was hoping for a car tossing, nuke shooting, telekinetic slobber-knocker to blow my socks off. This just didn’t happen. don’t get me wrong, it was a good episode and I will definitely be a long term fan, but this did not deliver the superslugfest I was hoping for. Although with Sylar making the stealth, wounded guy exit, they did leave it open for later. Well, one can hope.

Also this whole thing left me with one question, where the hell is the Haitian?

Heroes - Landslide - The Highlights

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

With exhaustion getting the better of me. I figured I’d go with a highlights post, rather than the full-on overview. A lot of good stuff happened in this episode, but it did have an off the wall kind of feel. The pot was definitely being stirred for the season finale.

For those of you not wishing to be tipped off to the events in this episode, here is the standard disclaimer: Spoilers Below…

.07% Recap

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

As usual, the spoiler alert is in effect.

Let’s get down to it, shall we? HRG is locked up after having been found out by his superiors. After a brief conversation with his boss (Eric Roberts), he is able to get in contact with Parkman, who is being held in a nearby cell. Through Parkman’s telepathy and a little, old fashioned MacGyverisms, HRG is able to tell Parkman how to get free and rescue Sprague. Despite Spragues misgivings, Parkman then goes back and rescues HRG. After they escape they discuss a plan of action. They decide to go to New York to destroy the device that allows Primatech to track super powered beings (through the radio tags, presumably). Parkman reveals that the organization is connected to Linderman, which surprises HRG. They think about going to Vegas to get Linderman, but HRG keeps them focused on NYC and the device.

Linderman reveals to Nathan Petrelli his plan to save the world and it invloves the explosion in New York, which would kill .07% of the world population (hence the title). He believes that this and other events will eventually lead to Nathan being President and unifying the world. He also reveals to Nathan that he has the ability to maipulate/restore plant life.

DL and Jessica get into it over the fact that Jessica is working for Linderman. He tells her that wherever she goes people turn up dead and that if she wants to choose that life, she will need to say good bye to Micah. During the argument, some of Linderman’s people show up to take Jessica to go see Mr. Linderman. When she gets there Linderman asks her for a favor. He wants to talk with Micah. She refuses saying that Micah was never part of the deal and that they would have to go through her to get to Micah. Next we see Jessica taking Micah to see Lindermna who is in a car outside the house. Linderman asks Micah if he would like to help him save the world. As the car drives off and Jessica is left behind, she morphs back into Candice (the Shapeshifter or Illusionist according to Chris) just before the real Jessica pulls up. Candice then walks past Jessica and comments on how nice the car is and strolls off. Jessica is unaware that Micah is gone.

We pick up with Peter coming into Mohinder’s apartment and the confrontation with Sylar. Sylar is cutting Peters scalp, but Peter starts healing as soon as he is cut. Peter then uses his powers to throw Sylar across the room. As they both recover, Peter goes invisible. Sylar uses telekenisis to lift a large pile of glass shards, he then projects them across the room in front of him. One catches Peter in the back of his head, killing him. As Sylar comes to stand over him, Mohinder, who had managed to sneak away during the fight, crashes the map board into Sylar knocking him out. Mohinder takes Peter to the Petrelli family home. When Sylar recovers he finds that the list is gone and it inspires him to rage. He then finds Isaacs address on the floor.

Claire and grandma have some conversation, which is shows the level of detachment she can get from a situation. Peter is delivered to them by Mohinder, who they them tell to leave. Nathan arrives and he and his mother grieve for Peter. this is probably the whiniest we have ever seen Nathan. Claires asks to be alone with him for a moment and discovers the shard in his head. She removes it and he is alive again (ok, we really saw that one coming). Claire and Peter have a moment. Then later on Nathan explains that Claire will need to go away until after the election and when it’s all over she will be brought into the family fold.

Mohinder calls the number to get a hold of HRG, but instead is met by the boss (Eric Roberts) who convinces Mohinder that they share a common goal in capturing Sylar and tht he should work with them.

Isaac gives a bike messenger what he says is the final edition of the 9th Wonders comic he draws. The messenger, also a big fan, seems surprised and asks for a sneak peek. Isaac also turns his sketchbook over to the messenger as a gift. When Sylar arrives, Isaac is calm and they talk. Isaac talks about how he has shown them how to defeat Sylar and diffuse the bomb. Sylar crucifies him to the floor of the studio using paintbrushes, then removes his skull, just like in the pictures. One of the better lines in the episode came in this exchange when Sylar says to Isaac, ‘This is usually the part when people start screaming.’

Hiro and Ando end up five years in the future, with the devastation surrounding them. Ando says that they can go back and fix it, but Hiro says that without know what is going on, they won’t know what to fix. Hiro believes that Isaac may still be alive, so they set out to find him. When they get to the studio, it is criss-crossed with string and article clippings that form a timeline of events. they hear a noise and Hiro draws the sword only to run into future Hiro also with sword drawn.

That sums is pretty much the totality of the episode. The previews for episode twenty are awesome and pretty dark. They occur in the five year leap, so are events that are possible to come if Hiro and Ando can’t fix things.
