As usual, the spoiler alert is in effect.
Let’s get down to it, shall we? HRG is locked up after having been found out by his superiors. After a brief conversation with his boss (Eric Roberts), he is able to get in contact with Parkman, who is being held in a nearby cell. Through Parkman’s telepathy and a little, old fashioned MacGyverisms, HRG is able to tell Parkman how to get free and rescue Sprague. Despite Spragues misgivings, Parkman then goes back and rescues HRG. After they escape they discuss a plan of action. They decide to go to New York to destroy the device that allows Primatech to track super powered beings (through the radio tags, presumably). Parkman reveals that the organization is connected to Linderman, which surprises HRG. They think about going to Vegas to get Linderman, but HRG keeps them focused on NYC and the device.
Linderman reveals to Nathan Petrelli his plan to save the world and it invloves the explosion in New York, which would kill .07% of the world population (hence the title). He believes that this and other events will eventually lead to Nathan being President and unifying the world. He also reveals to Nathan that he has the ability to maipulate/restore plant life.
DL and Jessica get into it over the fact that Jessica is working for Linderman. He tells her that wherever she goes people turn up dead and that if she wants to choose that life, she will need to say good bye to Micah. During the argument, some of Linderman’s people show up to take Jessica to go see Mr. Linderman. When she gets there Linderman asks her for a favor. He wants to talk with Micah. She refuses saying that Micah was never part of the deal and that they would have to go through her to get to Micah. Next we see Jessica taking Micah to see Lindermna who is in a car outside the house. Linderman asks Micah if he would like to help him save the world. As the car drives off and Jessica is left behind, she morphs back into Candice (the Shapeshifter or Illusionist according to Chris) just before the real Jessica pulls up. Candice then walks past Jessica and comments on how nice the car is and strolls off. Jessica is unaware that Micah is gone.
We pick up with Peter coming into Mohinder’s apartment and the confrontation with Sylar. Sylar is cutting Peters scalp, but Peter starts healing as soon as he is cut. Peter then uses his powers to throw Sylar across the room. As they both recover, Peter goes invisible. Sylar uses telekenisis to lift a large pile of glass shards, he then projects them across the room in front of him. One catches Peter in the back of his head, killing him. As Sylar comes to stand over him, Mohinder, who had managed to sneak away during the fight, crashes the map board into Sylar knocking him out. Mohinder takes Peter to the Petrelli family home. When Sylar recovers he finds that the list is gone and it inspires him to rage. He then finds Isaacs address on the floor.
Claire and grandma have some conversation, which is shows the level of detachment she can get from a situation. Peter is delivered to them by Mohinder, who they them tell to leave. Nathan arrives and he and his mother grieve for Peter. this is probably the whiniest we have ever seen Nathan. Claires asks to be alone with him for a moment and discovers the shard in his head. She removes it and he is alive again (ok, we really saw that one coming). Claire and Peter have a moment. Then later on Nathan explains that Claire will need to go away until after the election and when it’s all over she will be brought into the family fold.
Mohinder calls the number to get a hold of HRG, but instead is met by the boss (Eric Roberts) who convinces Mohinder that they share a common goal in capturing Sylar and tht he should work with them.
Isaac gives a bike messenger what he says is the final edition of the 9th Wonders comic he draws. The messenger, also a big fan, seems surprised and asks for a sneak peek. Isaac also turns his sketchbook over to the messenger as a gift. When Sylar arrives, Isaac is calm and they talk. Isaac talks about how he has shown them how to defeat Sylar and diffuse the bomb. Sylar crucifies him to the floor of the studio using paintbrushes, then removes his skull, just like in the pictures. One of the better lines in the episode came in this exchange when Sylar says to Isaac, ‘This is usually the part when people start screaming.’
Hiro and Ando end up five years in the future, with the devastation surrounding them. Ando says that they can go back and fix it, but Hiro says that without know what is going on, they won’t know what to fix. Hiro believes that Isaac may still be alive, so they set out to find him. When they get to the studio, it is criss-crossed with string and article clippings that form a timeline of events. they hear a noise and Hiro draws the sword only to run into future Hiro also with sword drawn.
That sums is pretty much the totality of the episode. The previews for episode twenty are awesome and pretty dark. They occur in the five year leap, so are events that are possible to come if Hiro and Ando can’t fix things.
