Wondering what your favorite Heroes stars have been up to this month? Check out these photos to find out:
Greg Grunberg and the Band from TV were on hand for The 7th Annual Comedy For A Cure on April 6 at The Avalon in Hollywood. The show was put on as a benefit for the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.
The Young Artist Foundation has announced the nominees for the 29th annual Young Artist Awards. Both of Heroes youngest stars, Adair Tishler and Noah Gray-Cabey, have been nominated.
Noah is nominated in the category “Best Performance in a TV Series - Leading Young Actor” for his role as Micah Sanders on Heroes. He will compete against other young actors Keir Gilchrist (The Winner), Carter Jenkins (Viva Laughlin), Jamie Johnston (DeGrassi: The Next Generation), Angus T. Jones (Two and a Half Men), Sean Keenan (Lockie Leonard), Kyle Massey (Corey in the House), Devon Werkheiser (Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide), and Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris).
Adair is nominated for “Best Performance in a TV Series - Supporting Young Actress” for her portrayal of Molly Walker. She will be up against Taylor Atelian (According to Jim), Malese Jow (Unfabulous), Tinashe Kachingwe (Out of Jimmy’s Head), Jennette McCurdy (iCarly), Mary Matilyn Mouser (Life is Wild), and Erin Sanders (Zoey 101).
Also making an appearance on the list is Hayden Panettiere’s younger brother, Jansen. He is nominated for “Best Performance in a TV, Movie, MiniSeries or Special - Leading Young Actor” for his role in The Last Day of Summer on Nickelodeon.
Hayden Panettiere and Noah Gray-Cabey were both winners for Heroes at last year’s Young Artist Awards. Noah was also nominated for his role in Lady in the Water.
This year’s awards will be handed out at a banquet and ceremony on March 30 in Los Angeles. To see the complete list of nominees, visit the Young Artist Awards website.
The 3rd edition of Titan’s Heroes Magazine hits newstands in the US on March 18 (March 13 in the UK). This issue spotlight’s comic book artist Tim Sale. He reveals how he got the Heroes gig and shares some of his favorite pieces from the show.
Also in this issue:
Hayden Panettiere discusses her role as the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet.
Ali Larter, Leonard Roberts, and Noah Gray-Cabey discuss the family dynamic and the fate of the Sanders family.
Cristine Rose (Mama Petrelli) talks about her role on the show so far
NBC has been running “The More You Know” public service announcements for over 19 years now. If you’re like me, then you DVR everything you watch and probably fast-forwarded right through the ads featuring the stars of Heroes. I just discovered some of the commercials on the “The More You Know” website.
The latest campaign focused on issues such as pollution, global warming and recycling and featured Heroes stars Noah Gray-Cabey, Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, Adrian Pasdar, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.
In addition to the “green” campaign, Heroes stars have helped spread a variety of messages. Ali Larter was featured in an anti-violence spot, Sendhil Ramamurthy did one about drunk driving, Adrian Pasdar’s PSA was about monitoring what your kids watch on TV, Masi Oka encouraged reading, and Greg Grunberg and Noah Gray-Cabey promoted internet safety in their spots.
If you live in the U.K., or care to travel across the pond, this will be a great opportunity for Heroes fans. Eclipse is a 3 day event which will run from Friday, March 14 through Sunday, March 16. The unofficial convention will feature several Heroes cast members including Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh), Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet), David Anders (Adam Monroe/Kensei), Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah Sanders) and Jayma Mays (Charlie the waitress). (more…)
Heroes stars are keeping busy during the strike. In addition to work on other projects, they are staying hot in the social scene by attending parties and premieres. Here’s a few photos I’ve found from the past couple of weeks:
Zachary Quinto, Greg Grunberg, Noah-Gray Cabey and Masi Oka attended the premiere of Cloverfield at the Paramount Pictures Lot in Los Angeles on January 16.
Many of the Heroes cast are involved in work for charities. Some of them have favorite causes and even act as spokespersons in some cases. Here is a list of some:
Zachary Quinto has been a spokesperson for the Give Life Foundation. Give Life is an organization that seeks to increase awareness of the shortage of blood and encourages people to donate blood. Kind of ironic for “Sylar” to be encouraging blood donation eh? For more information visit http://www.give-life.org/.
Heroes resident nerd, Masi Oka, recently became an ambassador for the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative (appropriately enough). OLPC seeks to offer laptops to developing countries for under $100 each. The project is headed up by MIT Media Lab’s Nicholas Negroponte. More info is available at http://www.laptop.org/.
Noah Gray-Cabey has founded his own organization called Action In Music (A.I.M.). Their purpose is to “educate and inspire young people in America through music, travel, performance and community service, and to help them realize that the future of the world, and of themselves, is in their own hands”. As a child prodigy on the piano, it is the perfect cause for him. If you’d like to find out more about Noah and A.I.M, check out their website at http://www.actioninmusic.com/.
On Monday we’ll look at some of the projects Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter and Hayden Panettiere are working with. If you know of other Heroes cast members who are involved with a cause, drop us an email or comment on this post and we’ll add them to the list as well!
As I told you last week, Heroes was nominated in several categories at Spike’s Scream 2007 Awards. They took home honors in 2 of those categories on Friday night - Best TV Show and Breakout Performance (Hayden Panetierre as Claire Bennet). The show will air on Spike tomorrow night and features appearances by many of our favorite Heroes stars.
The Chicago Sun-Times has a nice article about Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah) and his work with Action in Music. Action in Music is a foundation designed to help young inner-city musicians travel to poor countries to raise money for charitable causes.
Buddy TV talked with Shalim Ortiz (Alejandro) about his role on Heroes. They talked a little bit about where his character is headed, what his power is and how he felt about the fan backlash against Maya and Alejandro. You should give it a read if you have a chance.
Kristen Bell makes her debut on tonight’s episode. Fanboy’s everywhere are squealing - can you hear it? Buddy TV talked to Kristen last week and Use Your Ability has put together this quick list of things that were revealed in that interview (Possible Spoilers):
1 ) Bell’s Chracter Elle is “a little bit off”
2 ) Elle will find Peter
3 ) Elle has a “very interesting dynamic” and a much “deeper relationship” with Claire than people think. Joking but accidently hinting they might be sisters!!
4 ) She appears in Episode 5, but will not return until Episode 8 & 9.
5 ) Bell is signed for only 13 episodes so far.
6 ) Vol. 2 Generations will end by Episode 11 with cliffhanger to Vol. 3
7 ) Fans should “fully expect” to see some of the characters leave
8 ) We will see more of the 12 in the picture.
9 ) Joanna Cassidy could possibly be the person standing next to Mr. Parkman
10 ) Bell mentions she was “not offered” a role on LOST
11 ) Bell says she wants to work with Quinto (Sylar) and face off against him because they are good friends in real life.
Want a sneak peak of Matt’s meeting with his dad? Check out this clip, which was shown during Greg’s appearance on The Tonight Show last Friday. (Thanks to HeroesRevealed)
My MySpace friend, Greg Grunberg, just alerted me that TV Guide Network will be broadcasting a behind-the-scenes look at the second season of NBC’s Heroes tonight. It will include cast interviews with Greg, Masi Oka, Santiago Cabrera, Ali Larter and Noah Gray-Cabey and more.
Here are the dates and times. It replays several times this week in case you can’t catch it tonight (all times are eastern):
Mon, Oct 8 @ 11:00 PM
Wed, Oct 10 @ 4:00 PM
Thu, Oct 11 @ 3:00 PM
Thu, Oct 11 @ 7:00 PM
Fri, Oct 12 @ 9:00 PM
I told you earlier - the Heroes are everywhere. I have even more evidence to support my previous statement.
Masi Oka, everyone’s favorite Hiro, made an appearance on the Ellen show last Thursday. He talked about his Emmy date, Kristen Bell. Ellen asked if they were dating and if he had a crush on Kristen, but Masi wouldn’t dish. He said everyone has a crush on Kristen and they are great friends. He also talked about his 2000 Honda and why he’s still driving it and Ellen featured him in a “Men of Heroes” segment. Masi was charming and funny, as usual. Click to watch the video:
Ali Larter is featured in the October issue of Cosmopolitan. She looks fabulous on the cover. Inside the magazine, Ali talks about being a “Jersey Girl”, her boyfriend, Hayes MacArthur, her approach to diet and exercise and much more. Ali is also starring in the #1 movie in the country, Resident Evil: Extinction.
Prime Time Pulse chatted with 7 cast members and has posted the interviews in a “Heroes Week” series. They started last Tuesday with Nick D’Agosto who will play Claire’s love interest, West, this season. They also talked with David Anders (Takezo Kensei), James Kyson Lee (Ando), Dania Ramirez (Maya), Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah), and co-executive producer Jeph Loeb. The interview series wraps up tomorrow, and I believe they’ll be talking with Zachary Quinto (Sylar).
Finally, Hayden Panettiere will make an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly on Monday. The show is syndicated, so check your local listings for time.
A Pre-Emmy Cast Party was held last night at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. It was sponsored by Perry Ellis and Vanity Fair. All of our cast favorites were there, including a few we thought were “dead.” Could this mean there’s a chance they aren’t as dead as we thought they were? Eh, probably not. They all look like they’re having a blast though, dead or not.
First, we have the Lovely Ladies of Heroes. On the left, Kristen Bell (Elle) and Hayden Panettiere (Claire) and on the right, Ali Larter (Niki/Jessica).
