Heroes Picture Post for Friday, April 4

Friday, April 4th, 2008

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a picture post, so let’s catch up with a few of the events the stars of Heroes have been spotted at over the last month.

Ali Larter attended the Inaugural Avant-Garde Gala hosted by W Magazine & LACMA at LACMA BCAM on March 8 in Los Angeles. She showed off her new engagement ring to photographers.

Heroes News for the Week of March 31 to April 5

Friday, April 4th, 2008

47269_coverhq_122_512lo22 Sorry for the lack of news lately but besides the big NBC announcements that I posted yesterday, there hasn’t really been a lot of Heroes news to report over the last couple of weeks. I’ve scoured the internet and found a few tidbits about some of the cast to bring you, though and I’m hoping to get a picture post up a little later today.

Kristen Bell graces this months cover of Cosmo. There are some fabulous photos of Kristen inside the magazine as well as a great interview. You can see scans here.

Hayden Panettiere has signed on for two more movie projects. The first is an adaptation of the Rachel Cohn/David Levithan novel Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List. Hayden will play Naomi, a New Yorker who creates a "No Kiss List" with her gay BFF, Ely. The friendship becomes strained, however, when Ely plants a big one on Naomi’s boyfriend. Hayden will also voice Alpha the wolf in the animated family film, Alpha and Omega. Justin Long will co-star as Omega.

TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello reports that Mohinder may face some competition in the job as narrator. Tim Kring is rumored to be looking for an Australian Aboriginal actor in his fifties to appear in multiple episodes as a storyteller with great wisdom and a soft, soothing voice.

And finally, Ausiello recently talked to Greg Grunberg, who honestly seems like the nicest guy. Greg talked a bit about Heroes and his work with charities supporting Epilepsy and also revealed the cast of his upcoming movie, Group Sex. I can’t get the embed to work out quite right so check it out here.

Milo Supports Hayden as She Receives Genesis Award

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Hayden Panettiere with Humane Society President Wayne Pacelle at the Genesis Awards.

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was awarded the Gretchen Wyler Award last Saturday night at the Humane Society’s annual Genesis Awards. She received the award for her work with Save the Whales Again campaign. The award is named for actress Gretchen Wyler, who founded the awards. Wyler died last year after a battle with breast cancer.

Hayden’s parents and boyfriend, co-star Milo Ventimiglia, were in the audience to watch the awards ceremony. During the presentation, a video was shown of Hayden and other activists paddling out on surfboards and confronting Japanese fishermen about the trapping of Dolphins. Hayden was in tears as she gave her brief acceptance speech.

“As an actress, you always dream of getting awards like the Golden Globe award, but I never expected to get an award that is this special and important to me as this,” Hayden said through tears. “There are people who dedicate their entire lives to preserving the environment and defending animals, they are so much more deserving of something like this.”

Hayden received a standing ovation from the audience. Then she left the stage and went straight to the bathroom for a few minutes to regain her composure. She was later escorted back to her seat by Milo.

“She’s an inspiring example to her generation, using her compassion, courage and celebrity to help animals in a very effective way,” said Beverly Kaskey, Senior Director of the Humane Society’s Hollywood Office.

Congratulations to Hayden on her award!

Heroes News for the week of March 9-15

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

It’s been one of those weeks, Heroes fans. I let blogging get away from me and I owe you some Heroes scoop. I’ve been taking notes all week of the things I wanted to tell you so let me get started!

2emzh9l Hayden Panettiere is in the April edition of Cosmopolitan magazine. She discusses guys, messed-up actresses, and being a good “bad girl.” The cover is shown here but if you’d like to see scans of the inside, you can find them here.

Thomas Dekker, who starred as Zach in Season 1, has said that Life & Style Magazine misquoted him when they reported that he thought Hayden dating Milo was “gross.” Apparently Dekker came face to face with a reporter from the rag at a party and said, “Wait a minute! Aren’t you guys the ones who reported that comment about Hayden?!…I’m gonna kill that guy! I said it was gross, but then I said I was just kidding! He went on to explain, “I would have to actually care to be disgusted by it. I’m not disgusted. And, you know, if the relationship is making them happy, then of course it’s not gross. I’m just saying that I could never date someone with that big of an age [difference]. I just don’t see myself having anything in common with a person whose age is that [far from mine], but that’s just me.” I guess he told them! (more…)

‘Heroes’ Honored with 2 WAVE Awards

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

You haven’t heard of a WAVE award? That makes two of us. Probably because this is the first year they have been given out. WAVE, the Wireless Arts Video & Entertainment Awards, were created to honor mobile entertainment (the things you watch on your phone or iPod). Nominees were chosen by the Academy and voted on by mobile video and wireless users. Winners were announced in mid-November and handed out by the Academy president, Kip Hartman.

Hayden Panettiere took the honor of Favorite Clipped Dramatic Artist and Heroes was honored for Favorite Clipped Dramatic Series. Tim Kring accepted the award in a private outdoor ceremony. He said in his acceptance speech, that he believes ”this is how we will keep television series alive in the future.” He also stressed the importance of finding your audience and being able to go where they go.
