Season 4 Filming In Full Force

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

The Heroes cast is back at work, and one of the most wonderful things about the technology we have now is that many of the Heroes cast Twitters! Our favorite telepath Greg Grunberg has a twitter account and loves to update it with what’s going on in his life. Posted late last night was:

Finished up Episode 2 of Season 4 today on #Heroes. Love working with Zach, Lisa, Baby Matt, etc. Fun, scary fun…

Zach? Wait, he’s filming with Sylar? Interesting…and Baby Matt is back? I love baby Matt!

Also posted was the photo above, with a statement that he was there.

There? As in on the ceiling? Interesting. And I’m really curious as to where that is. Is it in New York City? Why do I want to say that it looks like part of the ceiling in Grand Central Station? Any native New Yorkers have any idea?

Also included are photos of Zachary at the beach recently hanging out with a friend.

Heroes Roundup for March 3

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

12285787451press927200781939AM The Los Angeles Times has a piece on their site today about the Twitter phenomenon and how it has caught on with celebrities. Heroes stars Greg Grunberg and Brea Grant are featured in the piece that also mentions James Kyson Lee, David H. Lawrence XVII, Propmaster James and Makeup Artist Wendi.

Speaking of Twitter, Grunny caused quite a stir with a couple of his tweets last week.  He first mentioned that it was hard to wrap for the season not knowing if any or all of the cast and crew would be back, then quickly backtracked and assured fans that the show was coming back.  Now there are articles on the web questioning the fate of Heroes. Among those who have mentioned it this week are TV Guide and E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos.

Never fear though, TV by the Numbers eerily accurate Renew/Cancel index shows Heroes safe for renewal.  They say that NBC’s horrible scripted line up will work in Heroes favor, but it might be facing big budget cuts.  "It…may not look like the current show, but I think it will be back."

David H. Lawrence XVII was interviewed by Chicago’s Pioneer Local. In the article, he mentions that he will appear in the first Bryan Fuller episode "Cold Snap" on March 23 and it "will be one that’s going to be talked about for years.  It’s a romantic scene, a poignant scene, it is the heart of whole show," he said. "It’s so beautiful, I’m tearing up now, which says something because I’m usually jaded. It’s why Bryan Fuller is in such big demand. You’ll know the scene when it happens; it’s just amazing."

Casting News: Young Sylar, Young Bob, Matt’s Baby and More

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Sylar_riding_a_bigwheel We saw a glimpse of young Sylar in photos during episode 3.14, “A Clear and Present Danger” and the actor who portrayed him in those photos was Joshua Rush.  Apparently we will be seeing more of Joshua in an upcoming episode, probably episode 18 or 19.  With Sylar on a quest to find his father, a flashback would be in order.  You can find out more about Joshua at www.JoshuaRush.net.

Also, as indicated by some of the casting calls we have seen, we are in store for some flashbacks featuring the young founders of The Company, including the young Bob Bishop.  According to IMDB, young Bob will be potrayed by Michael Croner. He is set to appear in episode 3.23, “1961.”

Remember those photos of Hiro and Ando with a baby?  Well it would seem from these photos that the baby is none other than the offspring of Matt and Janice Parkman.  The baby will be played by twins Quinn and Reed Baron and they will appear in a story arc that begins with episode 3.19, “Shades of Gray” and spans at least 5 episodes.  These photos of the little guys with Elizabeth Lackey (Janice Parkman) and Greg Grunberg come to us from the babies’ Facebook page via The ODI.

We’re Back! Heroes Roundup for February 17

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I know it’s been a while (again) since I’ve updated.  I’m going to try to get all caught up today.   Let’s start with a roundup of all the big news from the last week or so:

14817122451press920200754849PM JFX Online posted several photos of Zachary Quinto and Greg Grunberg from the set of Heroes on February 3rd.  In the photos it appeared that Sylar was sporting a gunshot would to the back of the head.  What does that mean for his character?

After rumors that she was spotted kissing Jesse McCartney, it seems that Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have gone their separate ways.  Several reports are popping up on the internet that the couple has split but, of course, remain friends.

HRG is blogging again!  Jack Coleman posted a blog about “A Clear and Present Danger” on February 10 and an “addendum” to that blog this morning.  You can check it all out at Television Without Pity.

Don’t forget to check out Greg Beeman’s blog each week as well.  Last week he gave us insight into "Trust and Blood" and I’m sure he’ll have another one up very soon.  Check it out at the Beaming Beeman.

EW’s Michael Ausiello has reassured us that Daphne is not dead - yet!  Even though she appeared to have been shot to death, he says we haven’t seen the last of Brea Grant.

In an interview with Access Hollywood from New York Comic Con, Milo Ventimiglia called some of the rumors of who might be leaving just "fairy tales."  You can see the entire video interview at the source.

Brea Grant has confirmed that she will be in Rob Zombie’s upcoming Halloween 2.

Jack Coleman recently spoke with John DeBella on Philadelphia’s MGK 102.9.  He chatted about what to expect from HRG and about the Super Bowl promo ads as well as his connection to Benjamin Franklin. Jack is always great in interviews so it’s a good listen.  Check it out at WMGK.com.

According to SpoilerTV, the title for episode 3.24 has been confirmed as "I am Sylar."

By the way, if you’re following me on Twitter, you may have seen that my grandmother was in the ICU after complications from pacemaker surgery.  She is doing much better.  Her doctor says someone “up there” must be looking out for her.

Heroes Roundup for January 31

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

13666293451press926200765230AM First and foremost, let’s all wish a big Happy Birthday to Heroes First Lady, Cristine Rose!

Don’t miss Greg Grunberg on The Bonnie Hunt Show on Monday, February 2.  Check your local listings or visit http://www.bonniehunt.com/ for info on when and where to find the show.  Thanks to Greg for tweeting about this so we wouldn’t miss it!

The ODI has posted another casting call which indicates flashbacks are coming.  This one is looking for a Cook and a Waitress, and a “Mom,” but also for Mr. Shaw who is described as “Late 30’s. CAUCASIAN. Dark Hair / Brown or Blue eyes. Mr. Shaw is a devoted father trying to protect his daughters.”   Could those daughters be Angela Petrelli and her sister, Wendy, as revealed in an earlier casting call

Brea Grant is featured in the January issue of Geek Magazine.  You can see a scan at Brea’s website.

Are you familiar with the LOLCats pictures?  Well over at Gagglefrak.com, they have created some LOL Heroes and you must go over and check them out.  Right now they are taking votes for the top 3 so head over, have a chuckle and vote.  Everybody who participates will be placed in a drawing for a free hardcover edition of the Heroes: Volume 1 graphic novel, which compiles all 34 web mini-comics from Season One.

BuddyTV is giving away a Hiro bobblehead doll.  To enter, you need to visit the Heroes Haiku Contest Slideshow.  Write a haiku inspired by any of the 15 Heroes screencaps in the slideshow, then leave your haiku as a comment HERE making sure to indicate which photo was your inspiration. You can enter as many times as you like until Wednesday, February 4 at noon Pacific time.  Good luck!

Behind the Scenes Video from Heroes Super Bowl Promo

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

NBC has released some footage that was shot during the filming of the Super Bowl promo ad.  The video features interviews with Masi Oka, Greg Grunberg, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jack Coleman (who will be coaching the team), and Ali Larter.  We find out from Jack that Hayden Panettiere will be making an appearance in the ad as well.  You can spot Hayden at the end of the footage throwing the football around with Milo and Adrian.

Check it out:

The ad will air sometime during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 1.  The game kicks off at 6:18 pm ET on NBC.  I’ll post video of the commercial here as soon as it’s available so that our international friends (and those who don’t watch the Super Bowl) can view it.

Heroes Roundup for January 28

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

15677429451press442008103955AM EW’s Michael Ausiello reports that former Pushing Daisies star Ellen Greene is in talks with Heroes to return as Sylar’s mom during May sweeps. Her Daisies sister Swoosie Kurtz is already scheduled to appear on the show this season as a friend of Angela Petrelli’s.

Ausiello also confirmed that one of the Heroes actresses has indeed asked to be released from her contract, but says NBC is "unlikely to allow it."

In her latest Spoiler Chat, E! Online’s Kristin dos Santos tells us that we won’t be seeing much of The Haitian in the "Fugitives" volume. She also reports that it is very likely that at least one Hero won’t be returning next season.  It is being sorted out right now just who will be going.

Kristin also reports that J.J. Abrams has finally broken his silence about whether his pal Greg Grunberg is in his upcoming Star Trek movie.  "I will say that Greg Grunberg has something to do with this movie, but you have to find him."  So it’s like "Where’s Waldo" with Grunny?  I’m up for the challenge.

NBC has handed down a pilot order for a new series from former Heroes writer/producer, Jesse AlexanderDay One is a futuristic drama that follows a small band of survivors who try to rebuild after a global event that devastates the world’s infrastructures.

Fans in the UK, get ready!  Wolf Events has announced that Jack Coleman and Greg Grunberg will be appearing at their first Heroes event, Wolf Timeline One.  The convention takes place at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Middlesex the weekend of April 10-12.  For more information, visit  http://www.wolfevents.com/joomla/.

Video from Band from TV Performance on The Tonight Show

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Greg Grunberg, Adrian Pasdar and the rest of the Band from TV performed on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Here’s video of the guys rockin’ the house:

Reminder: Tonight! Band from TV on with Jay Leno | Win a Copy of Their CD/DVD

Friday, January 16th, 2009

l_45298ba100064694a983ac37d1d7d73e Greg Grunberg and the Band from TV will make an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening, January 16.  BFTV member and House star, Hugh Laurie, will also chat with Jay as a guest, separate from the Band from TV appearance.

If the rehearsal video on the Band from TV website is any indication, Greg’s Heroes co-star, Adrian Pasdar (who was sporting an awesome porn ‘stache), will also be joining the band in their performance tonight.   Other members of Band from TV include House star Jesse Spencer and TV personality Bob Guiney.

Look To The Stars is giving BFTV fans a chance to win an autographed copy of their CD/DVD, “Hoggin’ All the Covers.”  Before The Tonight Show airs, send an email to contests@looktothestars.org and guess which song Hugh Laurie is going to sing tonight.  They’ve even provided some awesome clues to make sure you get the answer right:

  1. The song was originally recorded by Billy Preston for his 1973 album, “Music is My Life.”
  2. It spent a week at #1 on the Billboard Charts in July of 1973.
  3. It is Track #3 on the Band from TV CD, “Hoggin’ All the Covers.”

Make sure to include your name, address and the answer to the question in your email.  All correct answers will be entered into a random drawing.

Even if you don’t win, consider picking up the album, which is available at Amazon.com and Amazon.de, and will soon be available at Amazon.co.uk.  Sales of the album benefit a number of worthwhile charities that the band and its members support.

The Tonight Show airs on NBC beginning at 11:35 pm ET.

Heroes Roundup for January 10

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

It’s been a while since we did one of these, but there are quite a few smallish tidbits of news out there this morning, so I think a “roundup” in in order:

BuddyTV has named several Heroes stars to their list of TV’s Sexiest Stars of 2008.  On the list of Sexiest Women, Kristen Bell comes in at #2, Hayden Panettiere is at #6 and Ali Larter is at #13.  The Sexiest Men include Zachary Quinto at #15 and Milo Ventimiglia at #22.

The ODI is reporting that the title of episode 21 will be “Into Asylum.”

Brea Grant was featured in the holiday issue of Statement magazine and that issue is now available for viewing online.  You can see photos of Brea on page 16 in the table of contents and on page 30.  Brea also did the editor’s picks for Smashing Darling, an indie fashion blog.

David H. Lawrence XVII, who plays the villain Doyle, has confirmed via Twitter that he will be back in Volume 4.  Through his Twitter updates, we have learned that he will be filming scenes with Greg Grunberg and Brea Grant on the 21st.  We also know from previous interviews and set photos that he has filmed scenes with Hayden Panettiere.  By the way, If you’re not following David on Twitter, you’re really missing out.  He is a fascinating person who is involved in a number of different projects.  Check him out at www.davids.com.

Ali Larter is on the cover of the February 2009 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine.  You can see scans of the cover and article at Movie Hotties.  Thanks to Jeane for the heads up.

Collider.com has a new interview with Sendhil Ramamurthy.  In the interview, he talks a bit about Bryan Fuller’s return and says that they are currently filming episode 21.  He also tells us that several actors will share scenes in Volume 4, some having 6 or 7 actors together in one scene.  Here’s the video:

Greg Grunberg on The Authority Radio Show Jan. 12

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

10- Matt Parkman mindbends Slusho - an attempt doomed to failure

By the way, as I mentioned earlier, Greg and the Band From TV will be performing on the January 16 episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Greg is sure to plug that when he talks to The Authority on Monday.  You can watch a clip of Greg and the band, including a mustachioed Adrian Pasdar, Hugh Laurie, Jesse Spencer and Bob Guiney at the Band From TV website.
