News Corporation and NBC Universal launched their new free online television service, Hulu.com this past Wednesday, March 12. The much-anticipated online service, which has been in beta testing over the last few months, offers complete episodes of over 250 television series. You can find full-length episodes of current fan favorites like 24, The Simpsons, The Office and Friday Night Lights, as well as classic shows like Night Gallery, Remington Steele and SWAT.

In addition you can find clips from dozens of other shows and movies as well as 100 full-length films. Just browsing I ran across The Jerk, Weekend at Bernies, Sideways and Ice Age. The content is ad-supported so you will have to watch a few commercials but that’s how you get it free!

The first five Heroes episodes from Season 2 are available as well as about 75 Heroes clips which include scenes from the show, behind-the-scenes pieces and interviews.

Teaser for Volume 3: Villains

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

The Jules Verne Festival publicity may have been incorrect when they stated they would be showing a “secret unseen episode,” but they did show the audience a teaser for Volume 3 last weekend. That teaser has now surfaced on YouTube thanks to modern technology and I have it for you here. It’s a little dark, but actually not bad for being taped via cell phone or portable video camera. Oh how I wish I had been there!! Take a look:

You get mucho Quinto here, which is fine by me! I cannot wait to see Sylar in action again! How about that evil laugh?! And how uber creepy/scary is Jack Coleman’s narration. I just wish we had an idea of when Volume 3 might come to pass.

All the Heroes News You Can Use

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Yeah, I know, that title is waaaayyyy too goofy, but give me a break. It’s early! Anyway, here’s all that “news you can use.”

heroes_s2x02_02_1.jpg*TV Guide has an interview with Dania Ramirez up right now. Dania talks a little bit about Maya’s powers, the possibility of an on-screen romance, and battling Halle Berry in X-Men 3.

*GameLoft has released an official Heroes mobile phone game. The eleven level game allows you to play as Peter Petrelli, Hiro Nakamura, Niki/Jessica Sanders and Officer Matt Parkman. You can see screen shots and get more info HERE.

*George Takei (Kaito) has had an asteroid named after him. The asteroid, formerly knows as 1994 GT9, is situated between Mars and Jupiter. It has been renamed 7307 Takei by the International Astronomical Union’s Committee on Small Body Nomenclature.

*Ratings for Heroes second episode dropped off a little from last week’s premiere. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars won the 9 p.m. timeslot with a 13.8/20, CBS was second with Two and a Half Men, 8.4/12, and Rules of Engagement, 6.6/10. Heroes came in third (but was the night’s top show in the key 18-49 demographic). K-Ville brought a 3.7/5 over at FOX.

*The latest chapter of the Graphic Novel is up and it features The Haitian. We get to see what transpired between he and Mohinder and what happened between the time he left Mohinder and showed up with Bennet. The title is The Crossroads.

*Greg Beeman has a new blog up for episode 2. As usual, he has some awesome behind-the-scenes photos up as well.

*If you have missed either of this season’s episodes and need to catch up, full episodes are available online at NBC.com. You can also watch last season’s finale in case you missed it. Also, even if you’ve already seen the episodes, go back and watch with commentary.

*And finally, here is a 3 minute sneak peak of the upcoming 3rd episode, “Kindred.”

New Website | Kring & Coleman Liveblog the Premiere | Five scenes to preview

Friday, September 21st, 2007

It’s less than 3 days until the season premiere, and NBC is really gearing up. They’ve announced the premiere week Heroes contest (where you can win a car) and now have re-launched the official Heroes website with fresh content and a streamlined look.

At the revamped site, you can access graphic novels, get episode information, view Heroes World Tour photos and videos, see a preview of the 9th Wonders blog, check out the fan forum, and much more. There is also a section inviting you to visit the companion websites of Primatech Paper, the Yamagato Fellowship and Activating Evolution, where you can see new exclusive video about Mohinder’s sister, Shanti, and the mysterious illness she suffered from.

The most exciting bit for me, though, was the big announcement on the home page that Heroes creator Tim Kring and H.R.G. himself (Jack Coleman) will be liveblogging on Monday night immediately following the season premiere. The blogging begins at 10 pm eastern/9 pm central on September 24 but you can visit http://blog.nbc.com/heroes/ right now and leave questions for Tim and Jack and they’ll do their best to answer all of them when they go live.

And if that’s not enough excitement for one day, watch this video (from YouTube user EzraSmall) featuring five (count ‘em, FIVE) full scenes from Monday night’s premiere. We get a glimpse of Mohinder, Claire, H.R.G., Hiro and a few newcomers as well. But remember – this could contain spoilers, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t watch.

Thanks to my buddy Shankar for the scoop!

Episode 2.2 Title and Description

Friday, September 14th, 2007

NBC has released the official description for the second episode of the season, which will air on October 1:

Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) efforts to hide her healing abilities at her new California high school are jeopardized by a fellow student with a secret of his own. Niki (Ali Larter) and Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) leave Las Vegas in an attempt to start over. As part of his new job, Dr. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) must track down The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). While crossing into Mexico, Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro’s (Shalim Ortiz) abilities prove to be a threat to those around them. Meanwhile, disappointed by his hero Kensei (David Anders), Hiro (Masi Oka) resolves to rectify any damage his presence in feudal Japan has done to history. And another lost Hero falls in with a gang of Irish gangsters with clues to his past. Jack Coleman, Dana Davis, James Kyson Lee, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto, Milo Ventimiglia also star. Nick D’Agosto, Katie Carr, Ashley Crow, Cristine Rose, Barry Shabaka Henley, Dominic Keating, Holt McCallany, Eriko Tamura, Adair Tishler and Stephen Tobolowsky guest star.

Official Episode Description for the Sept. 24 Premiere

heroes_season_2_promos1.jpgFrom NBC, here is the official description for the Season 2 Premiere, “Four Months Gone.”

“HEROES” : AS THE EMMY-NOMINATED “HEROES” RETURNS, THE EXTRAORDINARY STRIVE TO BE ORDINARY FOUR MONTHS AFTER THE EXPLOSIVE EVENTS IN NEW YORK, BUT DEADLY NEW THREATS LOOM AS BRAND-NEW INDIVIDUALS WITH ABILITIES EMERGE WORLDWIDE — WRITTEN BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/CREATOR TIM KRING AND DIRECTED BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER GREG BEEMAN.

As the second volume of “Heroes” begins, the fates of Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) and Matt (Greg Grunberg) are revealed, following the horrible showdown with Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and Peter’s uncontrolled nuclear detonation miles above New York City. As everyone attempts to move on, a new sinister force begins stalking and murdering Heroes. With the family hiding in Southern California, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) attempt to live as inconspicuously as possible, which proves to be easier said than done. Meanwhile, after landing in feudal Japan, Hiro (Masi Oka) meets his hero Takezo Kensei (David Anders). Wanna see a sneak peak of Season 2?

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Check out this video from NBC’s Primetime Preview, hosted by Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman). I don’t think it’s too spoilery…but I guess that depends on what you call spoilery.

Watchers Start Your Engines

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

heroes cast
Not literally. I meant your inner Heroes lovin’ engine. I perused this little treat over at NBC.com earlier. It has alot of little teasers built into it. Hiro confronting Hiro, Linderman and Jessica approaching Micah, Isaac laying on his back, Angela Petrelli being told that Peter is dead… It’s enough to set your speculation engine into overdrive (nice closure on the them don’t you think). I’m really looking forward to the return on April 23, andd in honor of that return, I will being doing a recap of Parasite in a couple parts in order to get everyone back up to speed.

Heroes in February

Thursday, January 25th, 2007
cover

The current cover story for TVGuide Magazine features our beloved Heroes.

Claire finds her birth parents. Peter vanishes. Hiro’s father shows up, and so does a startling new Israeli hero with high-tech capabilities. Someone will die. NBC’s Heroes is headed for an explosive February.

From what I’ve been able to make out, the newest hero, Hana Gitelman, is Claires biological mother and also the one that puts Ted in motion to nuke the city. Check the clip here to see what I’m talking about. The clip in the side bar gives us a great glimpse of Hana in action.

The article also talks about George Takei doing a stint as Hiro’s father.

Continuing with your “Meet the Parents” theme, Hiro’s father — played by George Takei — also pops up Jan. 29, right? And it’s going to be blow-your-mind cool. The character will provide a gateway into a whole world back in Japan that we will explore in Season 2 — a story about Hiro’s family and his past.

I can only imagine who gets killed off. Read the rest of the article to get a glimpse at what is in store for February. I know that I will definitely be tuning in.

Godsend Synopsis

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

As we pass the lovely time during the hiatus, I thought that we might look ahead to the midseason return of Heroes. For this occasion I submit to you that TV.com has a synposis for Godsend (Episode 12) up:

Some of the cliffhangers from the last episode are resolved. Matt reveals himself to his wife. HRG conferences with Mohinder. Claire wants to meet with Peter. Hiro and Nathan meet again. Niki is trying to follow through with herself decision to trun herself in and the consequences. Simone and Nathan are worried about Peter. A new hero is introduced. He will offer a different view of the recent changes that have happened in the human evolutionary process. He’ll also meet Peter. Micah visits his mother.

I’m pretty sure that the ‘new hero’ will be the invisible man character to be played by Christopher Eccleston. Other than the intro of the new character, I’m finding myself underwhelmed by it all. I have confidence that Kring and Co. will definitely make it worth our time to tune in. they have not dissapointed thus far.

Days Remaining until next Episode: 11
