Release Date for Season 2 DVD Announced!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

41XBh_2BR0tmL__AA240_.jpgThe (oh-so-short) Season 2 DVD is coming soon. In a press release from Universal Studios, they announced the Blu-ray release (which, I would assume, should coincide with the standard DVD release) would hit stores on August 26, marking the studio’s first global release on Blu-ray. Season 1 will also release on Blu-ray on the same day. It was previously only available as a standard or HD-DVD. I don’t see the set listed on Amazon for pre-order yet, so I’m not sure what the price will be. Let’s hope the price will equate to the shortened season!

If you haven’t purchased your Season 1 DVD yet, it’s still available at Amazon.com and other retailers! It’s well worth the price just for the original, unaired pilot and 50 deleted scenes if you ask me. Plus, you can relive all the glory of Season 1 while you wait for Season 3 to come back in September. Win-win!

‘Heroes’ Gift Giving Guide - Ordinary Ideas

Monday, November 12th, 2007

It’s time to start thinking about those holiday gifts and what’s better for the Heroes fan in your life than Heroes-related items?

All this week, I’ll be featuring Heroes merchandise for that special Heroes fan in your life (or for you to add to your wish list).41FpywMWgJL__AA280_.jpg Here are some classic gift ideas with that Heroes flavor!

Calendars have always been a favorite gift for the holidays. They’re very practical and a great gift for the start of a new year. This year Heroes has its own 2008 calendar, complete with photos of all your favorite characters. Each month features a different character with a montage of photos. The photos all seem to be from Season 1 and include some of the fallen Heroes, like Isaac and D.L. (may they rest in peace) and fan favorites like Claire, Hiro and H.R.G. - just to name a few. The calendar retails for $16.95. 98_301_4_Heroes_Eclipse_Logo_Posters.jpg

Everybody loves t-shirts, right? This one features the “Godsend” helix symbol over an eclipse on the front and the Heroes logo on the back. It is available from AllPosters.com (It seems they are more than just all posters, eh?). The shirt is available in sizes S, M, L and XL and retails for $17.99. 41XBh_2BR0tmL__AA240_.jpg

Another great gift this season will be the Heroes Season 1 DVD set. Every Heroes fan, whether they have been with the show since the beginning or just came to love it in season 2, needs this set. With the strike going strong, it’ll be the only way to get our Heroes fix after December 3. The DVD includes all of the season 1 episodes, audio commentaries, the 73-minute original pilot with optional commentary, 50 Deleted Scenes and several behind-the-scenes featurettes. It retails for $39.99.

Are these gifts too ordinary for you? Tomorrow I’ll be back with some more extraordinary ideas.
