Stan “The Man” Lee Came on Heroes!

Monday, February 5th, 2007

How awesome is it that one of the Godfathers of Comic Books and super heroes will be appearing in the show? Stan is probably at least partly responsible for how I turned out as a human being and I know he shaped my imagination and started off my obsession with super heroes. Stan created or had a hand in creating some of hottest comic properties of all time: Spider-Man, The X-Men and The Incredible Hulk, just to name a few popular ones. The list goes on and on though and just about every comic book fanboy out there would wet themselves if they got to meet the living legend. Masi Oka is just such a fanboy and he’s getting to meet the legend in episode 19. Masi, say hi for all us hardcore fanboys that probably will never get that chance. Be my nerd proxy, sir!

Here is the quote that’s been floating around but I haven’t found the source yet:

Stan “The Man Lee is set to make a cameo appearance as a bus driver in the Monday, February 19 episode of NBC’s hit drama “Heroes. The episode, titled “Unexpected, features a scene in which Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) encounters the legendary Lee.

Masi is my personal hero right now.

Heroes in February

Thursday, January 25th, 2007
cover

The current cover story for TVGuide Magazine features our beloved Heroes.

Claire finds her birth parents. Peter vanishes. Hiro’s father shows up, and so does a startling new Israeli hero with high-tech capabilities. Someone will die. NBC’s Heroes is headed for an explosive February.

From what I’ve been able to make out, the newest hero, Hana Gitelman, is Claires biological mother and also the one that puts Ted in motion to nuke the city. Check the clip here to see what I’m talking about. The clip in the side bar gives us a great glimpse of Hana in action.

The article also talks about George Takei doing a stint as Hiro’s father.

Continuing with your “Meet the Parents” theme, Hiro’s father — played by George Takei — also pops up Jan. 29, right? And it’s going to be blow-your-mind cool. The character will provide a gateway into a whole world back in Japan that we will explore in Season 2 — a story about Hiro’s family and his past.

I can only imagine who gets killed off. Read the rest of the article to get a glimpse at what is in store for February. I know that I will definitely be tuning in.

Eric Roberts to appear on Heroes

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

It seems that Eric Roberts will be appearring on Heroes as a character called ‘Thompson’. the character will be an associate of HRG’s.

The one-time “Less Than Perfect” star will join the first-year NBC hit later this season. He’ll be playing a character named Thompson, an associate of Jack Coleman’s shadowy HRG, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The article goes on to say that it is unclear wether or not the character will be recurring or not.

Wireless Pt 2.

Hana picture 2

Well Watchers, the second part to Wireless is up and they reveal the ability of the newest hero, Hana Gitelman. This new direction seems a little x-filesish to me. I curious to see how it ties in to the other story lines.

On a related note Fangasm is reporting that the role of Hana will be played by Jessalyn Gilsig, of Nip/Tuck fame. From the site:

Okay, so who’s going to play Hana? We’ve been told it is going to be Jessalyn Gilsig. There’s been a lot of chatter that she’s going to be on the show, but none that I’ve found about her being Hana Gitelman.

Time will tell.

Days Remaining until next Episode: 18

Doctor Who?

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Elisa over at Watchingdrwho.com has posted that Christopher Eccleston, the doctor from season one, will be appearing on Heroes as a regular cast member. Eccleston will be playing an invisible man named Claude that will teach Peter to use his abilities. Welcome Doctor!

Sean Bean as Paul Sylar

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

If there is any speculation about who the character Paul Sylar is, according to IMDB there is little to dispute that Sean Bean, of LOTR fame, plays the role of Sylar.
