Casting News: Everwood’s Justin Baldoni Comes to Heroes

EW’s Michael Ausiello reports that Justin Baldoni, who played Reid Bardem on the WB’s Everwood, is joining the cast of Heroes as Alex, a Southern California surfer dude who works at a comic book store (Perhaps the same comic book store that Seth Green and Breckin Meyer are rumored to work at?). It will be interesting to see how the comic book store fits into the scheme of things.
Baldoni is scheduled to appear in at least two episodes of the "Fugitives" volume, which is filming now. The fourth volume debuts after the first of the year. Our friends over at The ODI have posted a few photos of Baldoni filming scenes with Hayden Panettiere. Here are a few. You can check the link for more (click to enlarge).

Yuck. Another love interest for Claire? I hope there’s depth to the character, it just seems your typical “jerk” character (Or perhaps I have a prejudice for surfer “dudes” xD)

He’s in two episodes, I doubt it’s a romance.
And it can’t be the same store as Sam’s comic’s is a real place in LA. Breken and Seth’s store is in Daphne’s home town of Athens Georgia.

I’m willing to see what this looks like on screen before I say one way or another whether it’s a good thing.
