Another Heroes News Roundup - 9.20.08
With the premiere just days away, Heroes news is EVERYWHERE! It’s really getting hard to tell if the articles I’m finding are new, or just a retelling of an interview I’ve already posted. I did find a couple with some new tidbits today though:
Tim Kring spoke with TheStar.com and revealed a couple of new things I don’t think I have heard before:
1) "The truth is, it’s all about family, and at the core of this particular volume we’re exploring the nature of dysfunction among family." Both the Bennets and the Petreliis will be "tested and tugged" in ways that we haven’t seen so far.
2) "Just when you think that you have figured out [Sylar's] role for the rest of the series, he’ll change again and, you know, we’ll reinvent where that character is."
3) With Suresh getting powers this season, Kring says "somebody needs to be able to play the role of the outsider on this show. I would just sort of say, `Stay tuned’ to see who that is. It will be someone you already know."
The TV Addict posted an interview that they did with Milo Ventimiglia during the Television Critics Association Press Tour. Nothing much new but an interesting quote about his character:
"If the first season was about Peter finding himself and the second was about Peter losing himself. The third season has Peter not quite himself. Peter is always evolving, moving and bouncing around. Right now, Peter is one of the most powerful heroes, which means at some point, the guy has to fall. Which is going to be really fascinating to watch."
Forbes has an article all about celebrity nerds. Of course Heroes Masi Oka made the list, but so did Kristen Bell:
"Geeks also reign on the small screen. Masi Oka, who plays the time-traveling Hiro on Heroes, has worked as a computer programmer and in the special effects department of George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic. He, Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader and Kristin Bell, the blond pixie from Veronica Mars, also attend comic book conventions. Bell is said to be a fan of Ed Brubaker, an award-winning cartoonist who has written Captain America and Daredevil titles."
The Niagra Falls Review has an interview with Tim Kring in which he gets a little defensive about Season 2.
Sci-Fi Wire has an article about Sendhil Ramamurthy. Of his character’s newfound power, he says, "I have never had this much fun. I’ve gotten to do so much physical stuff. I’m getting to do some amazing stunts, and they’re actually letting me do a lot of them, which I was kind of shocked about."
